HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
One Step at a Time
The requirements of a hotel versus the health service are going to be different. However, there is considerable space for the two to meet. But where they meet will depend entirely on the strategy taken by government and how quickly that action can realistically be implemented.
As an example, with early action patients can be along the "care curve", from hospital to care home to hotel, depending on their clinical need. But this requires very early action if premises are to remain distinct and free from infection. Even if this does take place, it is far more likely that there will be an urgent or sudden need to remove people from hospitals or care homes to temporary accommodation.
Temporary accommodation will vary in terms of its suitability for housing a wide variety of needs such as: Care home patients, recovering medical patients, NHS staff isolating from their families, Key workers isolating from all contact. collating this information early will save time later.
